Shower, Grace's appointment, Olivia's ultrasound...

The past few days have been very busy!

On Sunday three of my favorite girls gave me a wonderful diaper shower. I felt kind of funny having a shower just two years after Grace. But diapers...what a great idea. Diapers are not something you can reuse with each child. Plus I did receive some other fun stuff!

During the shower Chad had daddy and uncle duty. He watched both Grace and Hudson and did a wonderful job. They might of looked rough when they first walked through the door, but he played with them, went on a walk, gave them naps, gave them juice, diapered them and brought them up to the church. I think we found a new favorite babysitter.

Yesterday Grace had her two year old check up with Dr. H. There were shots and tears but with that aside she was a good girl. She weighed in at 27lbs 5oz in the 50% and 36 1/2 inches tall over the 95%. Grace does not have to go back to the doctor till she is three!
Yesterday I also had a doctors appointment with ultrasound. Olivia was measured through the ultrasound. They do this by measuring her head, her abdomen, and one of her leg bones (I can't remember which one). Through those measurements Olivia is in the 90% for size, estimating her size at 6lbs 12 oz. WOW...I still have how many days left???

Happy Birthday Grace

How old are you Grace? TWO

It is hard to believe that we have a two year old! Grace has grown so much in the past two years. She has such a tender heart and loves to be around others. She has a few favorite people that she loves to be with. Her number one person is her daddy. She loves that man more then anything. It is really sweet to watch them together and to watch her become excited when he gets home for work. No matter what she is doing, she will stop and give him a big hug when he walks through the door. She is starting to really talk. She says many words now, words that I didn't even she knew. For instants yesterday we were letting the dog out and when we came back inside she said, "freezing". Unsure of what I heard I asked her to repeat what she said. The next time she said, "cold". Wow! That is what she said, where did freezing come from? She is also beginning to put small two and three word sentences together. It is so sweet to hear her voice. She loves getting dressed by herself. She can officially put on her pants, socks and shoes on her own, even though they may not always be perfect. She still loves going places and labeling places she knows as we drive up or pass them. Three of her favorite places is ball (which is Chad's indoor soccer), bowling, and church. We are just beginning to work on colors and letters. Every color to Grace is pink and all letters are "c" "o" "y". She loves baths and even loves taking showers with us. She doesn't mind water in her face, loves to wash her body and she labels each body part. She loves to play soccer with daddy and she has become really good at kicking. She also loves her baby dolls. She is very motherly to them. She changes diapers, takes their clothes on and off, feeds them, rocks them and puts them to bed. She has some favorite toys that she wishes for others not to play with. We are working really hard on sharing. She also likes things in there correct spots. Which makes clean up very nice because she puts things up where they belong. She is a good eater and feeds herself with utensils. Highchairs are not her favorite place to reside at meals anymore. She loves milk and would drink a gallon a day if allowed. She has become quite the little dancer. When she hears music her little legs just start going. She is such a blessing to us and we can't wait to see what this coming year has in store for us.

We wanted to make her birthday a special day. So I went out early this morning and got donuts. We laid a quilt out on the bed and allowed her to have breakfast in bed. She of course picked out the pink donut with sprinkles for her breakfast item.
She then took a really long bubble bath. She absolute loves baths. She will probably kill me one day for showing this picture to everyone.
After the bath we allowed her just to play around the house in her diaper. She then had lunch and went down for a nap. During her nap we got the house ready for her birthday party!

My little girl is not a morning person. This is what she is like first thing up from naps and in the morning.
Grace invited all her little friends over for her lollipop party. Carson, Aidan, cousin Hudson, Maddy, Lizzy, Cory, Erin, baby Danica and their families came. Along with Maw Maw and Paw Paw. They had such a fun time playing.

We had a pinata that all the kids swung at. It was really cute to watch them. It did take some of the big kids to finally bust it open for us.
Collecting candy from the Pinata.
Everyone was so generous with all the gifts. Thank you to all!

There has been a few shots of Grace in the last two years where I think she looks like Aunt Carrie when she was little. This is another one of those shots.

What a great cake!!!
Grace did a great job blowing out the candles all by herself.
Eating cake wasn't like last year. No free reign!
Grace sent all her friends home with a giant lollipop!
At the end of the day. Pjs on, laid back, feet up, and playing with her laptop! What a great day!

Six weeks from today!

Olivia should be arriving six weeks from today! It still seems so long away yet I know it is just around the corner. I am still feeling good but diffidently pregnant. I love to sleep during the day and at night. Sleeping at night isn't the best just because it is so hard to move but it seems better then last time I was pregnant. I am pretty sure I am waddling now and I feel like I am bigger then I was with Grace. I have gained 7lbs so far. I think I gained around 12lbs with Grace and they were mostly at the end. Grace knows something is going on and talks to Olivia in my belly. When she is done talking she will pull my shirt back down and tell her bye bye. Too cute! As parents we are getting excited to meet our new daughter. We lay in bed at night wondering what she will look like. Will she have hair? What color will it be? Will she have my cheeks? This list goes on...
To humor me I put a poll on the right side on my blog. If you have a minutes vote on how big you thing Olivia will be. (Grace was 8 lbs 13 oz)

Snow AGAIN!!! (more pics)

It is snowing again in Georgia! They have called for 1-3 inches with the snow ending around 5pm tonight. There is probably about an inch already on the ground and it's just 12:30.

This morning we took Grace to get her two year old pictures taken and then to run a few errands. We are now at home sitting by the fire. Hopefully when Grace gets up from her nap we will be able to talk daddy into playing outside in the wet snow.

We had fun in the snow when Grace woke up from her nap. Snowballs were thrown at people and dogs, snowballs were eaten, snowmen were made and walks were taken. Much Fun! Chad doesn't like being cold and wet so he dressed appropriately.

The dog loved the snow. She ran around like crazy and ate snow balls. She thought the snowman was going to be a special treat for her.

Grace LOVED being outside in the snow! I hope we have snow in Georgia again in years to come.

What did we do on a long, cold weekend at home? Watch movies on our new TV!!! These are just a few of the movies we saw.

Snow in Georgia

It snowed in Georgia yesterday evening. I watched on TV at all the cities around us with snow but none at our house. I knew it had to be coming, so like a kid, Grace and I sat by the back door with jackets on and camera in hand. It finally came! I was so excited when I first saw the smallest snowflake that we ran outside and started taking pictures. Within thirty minutes we had large flakes coming down, covering the ground. Grace and I played in it off and on for those thirty minutes then went back outside when daddy drove up for work and played for a few more minutes. Daddy showed Grace how to write in the snow and to throw snow balls. He actually got Grace right in the month. I wish I had a picture of it. She didn't cry but she didn't think it was funny either!

SNOW!
Trying to catch a snowflake
Now is when it is really starting to come down. Grace just kept pointing at the snowflakes.

She finally caught one!
She is not happy in this pictures, I think she is finally cold and wet.
Daddy's message to Grace.

Grace's message to daddy.

This is what the house looked like this morning, Thursday morning, after the rain in the middle of the night. It is still a little white with ice on the trees. Grace keeps looking out the back window says, "COOL"!
