16 months old

another picture by Sharma

Grace is now 16 months old. It's amazing how she continues to change. Her hair is starting to get long, she is getting taller, she is losing baby fat, and starting to get a gorgeous summer tan (she has her daddy's skin). She is starting to talk a lot, but we don't really know what she is saying. She says please when she wants something or maybe I should say that she whines when she wants something but then will repeat please after you to get it. She is following simple commands...throw this away, find your shoes, sit down, etc. She has a temper, I keep saying it because she is a girl. She can stomp her feet, scream and cry with that poor pitiful face. Can we hit the terrible twos at 16 months? She is climbing onto everything, with no fear. She has bumps and bruises all over from falling or pulling up on things. She can now run, or run away from you when you need her. Grace loves the TV. Her favorite shows are Little Einstein, Blue's Clues and Sesame Street. She is an awesome sleeper. She is still taking two naps a day unless she wakes up late in the morning. If you ask her if she is ready for night night, she walks to her room and stands in front of her crib waiting for you to put her in.
Last week Grace put the fear into mommy, when she went into the bedroom and locked herself in there. I freaked out looking for one of those little keys. When I got the door open Grace was standing there laughing. I didn't know she could reach the door knob much less turn the lock.
She loves being outside. The heat doesn't bother her at all. She likes to swing, play in her water/sand table, play in the rocks, play in the pool, and take walks.
She now gives a hug along with her open mouth kisses.
We love this little girl to death. She brings joy to everyday!

Memorial Day Weekend

This weekend was spent at Maw Maw and Paw Paw's lake house. We celebrated Hudson's 1st birthday!!! Maw Maw's family joined us on Sunday. It was nice spending time with family and celebrating not only Hudson's birthday but two more birthdays and Scott's graduation.

She always wants to do what the big kids are doing.
I think they are both trying to figure out what is on the others head.

Awesome Pictures

On Thursday Grace and I met a friend from church at Vines Garden. Sharma is getting into photography and needed a subject to take pictures of. The pictures turned out sooo cute I had to share with everyone. And if you are looking for someone to take any special photos of you or your family let me know and I'll hook you up with Sharma.

Last Week

This is my last week full of kiddos. Grace and I get to spend the summer days together. I am sure we will have a lot of great photo opportunities. Below is a picture of some of my babies.

Uncle Bob

Chad's uncle Bob passed away on Saturday May 19, 2007. We traveled to Warner Robins on Monday and Tuesday to spend time with family and to go the funeral. The funeral was held at Andersonville, GA. It was a beautiful ceremony.

Weekend in Macon

This weekend we went to Macon, GA for Chad's U11 boys soccer tournament. It was a great time with the team winning 1st place and spending time with some great friends!

Cory and Grace
These two have become like brother and sister. We spend A LOT of time with this family through soccer and church. They are good people.

Grace and Mrs. Debbie

Two of Grace's favorite people are Mrs. Debbie and Aundrea. She knows that these two special people love her no matter what. She also knows that they will help rescue her out of her stroller, hold her, walk around with her, feed her and entertain her. I don't know what we would do without them....what are we going to do during fall season?

Coach Chad and Coach Learoy standing with a player who just played his last game with them.

The Team

Relay for Life

Last night the Maddox family walked in Gwinnett County Relay for Life on the "Janie's Red Hot Chili Peppers" team. We missed Janie, but we will walk with her again next year. It was so much fun and Grace was the best one year old out there. Even after no afternoon nap (and yes I tried to put her down for an hour) she was on her best behavior. Thank you to each who donated to this great cause. We raised $285 as a family.
This is how Grace spent must of her night, on daddy's back. Thank you Hudson for letting us borrow it. If you look closely you will see a strike of lightning behind Chad. We had several storms around us but only received a few sprinkles at the fairground.
Grace enjoying a sucker. She really enjoyed all the special treats out there; people dressed up, balloons, food, items that light up, beads and everyone talking to her.
Awesome friends Chad with some of his youth.
Poor Grace got mommy's hair. As soon as it went humid her hair started to curl up. Mrs. Debbie, make sure you look closely at her shirt.
Friends from church.
FINALLY...11:00 pm

I love to scrapbook, but since Grace was born I have only spent a tops of three days working on one. I am hoping my blogs will help me organize Grace's scrapbook when I finally get around to it. It will also explain why I post so frequently.

Grace just looked SO cute yesterday that I had to get some pictures in.

This was right after Chad got home from work. I love how as soon as she sees him she makes a bee line right into his arms. I think the way she is looking at him is just so sweet.

This is a picture of Grace holding her bunny. She has been sleeping with this bunny since she was about five months old.Sshe has slowly shown more interest in it. I try to leave it in her crib when nap time is over but she now wants to carry it around and hug on it.

You can't see her face, but she has a paci in and she is holding bunny. This morning she went to her crib and pulled out both items through the slabs. She then went to the wagon, climbed in, signed "night night" and then laid down. I thought it was funny.

Messy Game Night

Last night at The Orchard youth Chad planned an awesome messy game night. They played several gross wet games, which they loved. We cleaned them all off with a firetruck. Grace had a great time watching.

Warm Day

Yesterday was a warm day, so we decided to try out our new small wading pool. Grace LOVED it. We can't wait till we can go try out Maw Maw and Paw Paw's big pool at the lake.
