Great Weekend

We had a GREAT weekend!  We left Friday morning and traveled to Maw Maw and Paw Paw's house to spend the night.  We always have such a great time there playing outside, golf cart rides, movies and hot tubs!
Gracie helped mommy make Valentine cookies.
All three of us girls got Valentine presents!  Thank you daddy!
We then left to go to Augusta for a soccer tournament on Saturday morning.  The best part of the weekend was meeting up with our friend Stephen Faires.  Chad and I met Stephen at Georgia Southern.  He is such a great guy and we have truly missed hanging out with him, eating Zaxby's and just being silly.  Stephen was in our wedding several years ago and was even part of the scheme of Chad's proposal to me.  We have often joked that he is my long lost brother because of our eating habits.  I hope we can meet up again soon!

My good little eater!
Cory and Grace
Grace loves so many of the families on Chad's soccer fields.  Her new recent love is Melissa Keiss.  Thank you Melissa for loving on my girl!
Jennifer and Chad.  Jennifer is a good friend and Chad's team manager.

Update...

I thought I would do a quick update on the Maddox household...
We are doing great and staying busy.  Chad continues to search for a job but we know God has a great plan.
Olivia is a Crazy Mess!  She is into everything and LOVES being the center of attention.  Today I walked around the corner and found her eating apples.  Apples that were in a plastic container inside of Grace's backpack.  She was so proud of herself.
This afternoon her had a hard time falling asleep.  I went to go check on her and found her like this...sound asleep...
And yes, those are her pants that she somehow got off and threw out of the crib.
Today I had the pleasure of taking Valentine snacks to Grace's class.  Heart shaped Krispy Kreme doughnuts...YUM!
Who knew how much a three year old would come home with for Valentine.
And the sweet card made...

Last weekend I planned a girls night out with my middle school small group.  My two little ones came along since Chad was working up at the soccer complex.  Grace turned into a 13 year old for those few hours.  Doing everything by herself and the expressions of a teen.

I love my girls! :)

Three Year Check Up

We took Grace to her three year old well check up today.  There was no shots or pricks so it was a good visit in Grace's eyes.  When we told her that we were going to the doctor her response was, "I have a booboo?".  Too cute.  She was 32.6 lbs and 38 1/2 inches tall.  It put her in the 75 percentile for both.  She was very shy and would not speak to Dr. H but was a big girl on the table.  The only think she refused to do is open her mouth for the doctor.  When we got back in the car I asked her why she didn't open her mouth she insisted she did..."I opened it just a little bit!".

Olivia's ears got rechecked and they were 100% better!

Monday

Naps having become very interesting in our house.  Grace has been trying to give up her naps but is in the between stage.  Do we give her a nap?  Then she may stay up to late...  Do we hold her off for the day?  Then she is a grump by five o'clock.  Their is just not a perfect scenario. Regardless, time in your room is a must, Mommy needs some time to herself.  One can be very amused by listening or "spying" on Grace as she spends time in her room on her own.  She will read books to her babies, talk to her animals, sing songs she has learned from school...

Today I captured her singing the "days of the week"l.  Aren't you glad Mondays don't occur as much during the week as they do in her song?

New Chapter

The Maddox's have started another chapter of our lives, not one that was planned or expected. Chad lost his job on Monday.  We know that God has great plans for us.  We are in continuous pray that it can all be His way and not ours.  Please pray for our family and we follow God's will.  And if you hear of any jobs let us know. :)

11 months old

I put off writing this blog because I am in complete denial that Olivia is just a month short of being one.  She is such a mess and into EVERYTHING!  She is completely on table foods and loves it.  She is drinking out of a straw well and loves sweet tea but does not get it very often. Formula is not a favorite and we are lucky to get 16oz in her a day.  She gave up breastfeeding on her own.  When I took her in for the ear infection last week, the doctor suggested to just go ahead and start her on some whole milk.  We now have two teeth on the bottom and it looks as if four more are coming in on the top but they have not come through yet.  She is a great crawler and it takes her anywhere around the house.  She loves to explore and get into anything that she is not suppose to be in.  I never had to really baby proof the house for Grace but this one things sticking your fingers in a light socket it fun.  She just started climbing in the last week and in just a few days has become very good at it.  I have found standing in Grace's chairs, on top of Grace's bed, on the fireplace, just to name a few.  She loves escaping to the bathroom and pulling up on the toilet.  WHY? I don't know.  She loves hanging out with her big sister, following her everywhere and trying to do everything she does.  Olivia is full of words.  She is my little talker....mama, dada, Grace, dog, woof, baba (bottle), hey are words we hear everyday.  But she tries to say everything.  It is really cute hearing some of the words coming out of her mouth.  She signs more to eat, to drink or for more of anything.  She loves to give kisses to everyone except her daddy, we think it is because of his facial hair.  She will smack her lips for a kiss or when she see something good to eat.  She is standing on her own more but does not have the confidence to walk on her own.  She has taken a few steps to me or to transfer to furniture but nothing significant.  She is such a little ham and is full of laughs.  She completes the Maddox household.
