Walking in his shoes/One year check up

Grace has become fascinated with trying to figure out everything in her big world. She has found out that you feed yourself with a spoon (this is a very messy process), shoes go on your feet (anyone's shoes, doesn't have to be your own), everybody has eyes (and you better watch out b/c she will poke you in the eye trying to show you where your eye is), dolls and stuff animals need to be feed with sippy cups, and cars go "zoom zoom" all around the house.

On Monday we went to Grace's one year check up. She is in the 45th percentile for height and weight, weighing in at 20lb 5oz. She hated the doctors office. She cried the whole time, even when she was being weighed. I guess she know that the three shots were coming at the end.:( SO we left the dr office with two band-aids and also found out we had a double ear infection. She is on her first first dose of antibiotics.

Birthday Party

We celebrated Grace's birthday party today. We decorated with polka dots and invited family and friends over. I hope you enjoy looking at pictures of her big day.

having awesome friends

I guess she will never be able to say, "Sixteen and never been kissed".

She is one years old!

It's hard to believe I am posting a blog letting you know about Grace at twelve months. We waited so long for Grace to be born and now a whole year has flown by. Grace is such our little miracle and this past year has been awesome for us.
Grace is becoming such a sweet little girl. She has her moments of being stubborn and letting you know when things don't go her way, but she is a really is a good girl.
She starting walking this month. It started as two or three steps and can now ago about a dozen. She will even push your hand away so that she can do it by herself. She has that frankenstein walk, it's so cute.
She is trying to talk more. She can say bubbles, Paw Paw, and her own version of Love You and baby. Grace has learned more signs...night night, bunny, paci (yes she still has it), milk.
Her fourth tooth came in a few weeks ago. And she is now completely on table food! NO more baby food! Grace is giving up her formula and drinking whole milk. Just in the last few days she is going to bed with no milk at all. She now has been off a bottle for two months. She loves to sip on water with a splash of juice during the day through a straw.
This past week she got her first BIG cold. I took her to the doctor on Tuesday worried about the cough, just to be told that it is "just a cold".

A special visitor

On Friday night and on Tuesday night we had special vistors come to see Grace. Uncle Ryan (daddy's brother) came on Friday. He was a little under the weather so we didn't get a picture of him and Grace.

And then on Tuesday night Pops (daddy's dad) came to visit. It was fun seeing both of them. Though Grace wishes she had more time to play with them.

She loves to play

We love to watch Grace play. Watching her explore, climb, tumble is so much fun that I wanted to share some of it with you.

Zoo

Today we went to Atlanta Zoo. It has been years since mommy and daddy have been and of course the first visit for Gracie. It was a perfect day. The weather was nice (70 degrees in January) and the crowd with just right. Grace enjoyed her day at the zoo and enjoyed her first Varsity food afterwards.

A few steps

Monday, January 08, 2007

Like most of our normal weekends, this too was a soccer weekend.

This weekend Grace's daddy played in an adult tournament at BYSA. Saturday was a beautiful day. Grace and mommy went out to watch all day. Sunday was a rainy yucky day. Gracie stayed home to take a nap. But when we heard daddy was playing in the finals we put on our mud boots and went to watch.

WAY TO GO DADDY FOR WINNING!!!

FRIENDS

Grace had friends over on Friday to play. Lizzy and Grace had a blast playing with Gracie's kitchen.

And Gracie loved holding "her baby" Abby!

On a side note, Grace is starting to walk! The most she has taken is five steps, but it's pretty exciting!
