A SAD DAY....

Today we said goodbye to our sweet dog Erkskin

OUR WEEKEND...

This was another big weekend. On Friday night we went to the new LHS stadium to watch the football game. Since it was the grand opening they had four sky divers fly in before the game. Grace was SO amazed by everything, she watched everything from the skydivers to the game to the cheerleaders to the band to the people of Loganville.

She was such a good girl and fell into a hard sleep after the game.

On Saturday we went to one of Chad's boys soccer games in Gainsville and then took Grace to her friends Erin's for a spend the night party. Chad and I got a fun night out to see the Carolina/ UGA game. GO GAMECOCKS! We had SO much fun and had the best company.
This is a picture of Grace taking her overnight bag to the car.

On Sunday we continued with our busy schedule with church, another soccer game and youth group.
Hanging out in the cool car before the hot game.
Chad goofing off with the youth.

Some exciting new! On Friday I had a routine doctors appointment. I had a quick ultrasound and saw the baby!!! IT was so cute. It was moving all around. It is amazing in just a few quick weeks between the ultrasounds it went from a little thing that looked like rice to a baby with a head, arms, legs, etc. It was very exciting to see!

Labor Day

We had a wonderful Labor Day holiday. We left Sunday after church and drove up to the lake. We spent some quality family time going out to eat, taking golf cart rides and watching movies.

One of Maw Maw's friends made Grace this hat. Isn't it cute.

On Monday we invited some friends to hang out with us and enjoy the water. We had a blast!

Saturdays

What does a typical Saturday look like with the Maddox's.....

(the only thing missing is a soccer game, but don't worry, it starts next week)

While mom cleaned around the house Grace was playing on her own. When she came around the corner I had to wonder WHAT was on her face. Is this chocolate? Is it poop? NO, it's brown stain from Grace rubbing her mouth on the dining room table. Should I be worried about lead poisoning?

Grace is finally building with her blocks. Instead of concentrating so hard on putting them together she can now play. While daddy is doing morning yard work we are playing inside in t-shirts and shoes. Don't ASK.

For lunch mommy got to go out by herself with girlfriends. Daddy and Grace went to Home Depot and Chick-fli-a before an afternoon nap.

First football Saturday of the season. We are all in GT yellow. GO JACKETS! We shared game time at the Lea's house.

We love to have family time together!

Pictures

I have not been very good at taking pictures lately, one reason is because I like taking pictures outside and it has just been to darn hot to do that. But this morning was a overcast day so me and the kids went outside to play. Enjoy the pictures below.

This is one of Gracie's "not happy" looks. I love it!
She loves playing in daddy's pebbles in the backyard.
Daddy hates it.
She loves playing in the sand.

This is a video of Grace and her new laugh. Who did she learn this from?

Aiken, SC

This past weekend was spent in Aiken, SC for a soccer tournament. I have to admit I love soccer tournament weekends...watching the games, hanging out with friends, going swimming, eating out. This weekend was extra special because Aunt Carrie, Uncle Eric and Hudson came to visit us and watch one of the games. It is so fun to watch Grace and Hudson together. To top off the weekend Chad's boys won 1st place!

This is where Grace spent most of her time...in the wagon.
She is eating her breakfast in this picture.

Paci

Grace has become very attached to her paci. We are trying to leave it in her bed when she wakes up. But if you leave her bedroom door open she will go in and hunt them down. Get them through the crib slabs, under the bed, etc. Today was one of those days. She was so happy she found TWO! What does a child do with two of them...

My little girl talking

Here is small clip of Grace and a few of the words she is starting to say. At the end you will hear me say "I love you"...her response is always the same!

Hats

Grace LOVES hats. She loves when others have hats on and she loves putting hats on her own head. Today she just kept finding hats around the house to put on. She was so cute I just had to take a few pictures. My favorite is of the two of us after she put the hat on my head.

The school year has begun...

Since I keep mostly teachers kids I have had my summer off to enjoy with Grace. But this week the teachers of Gwinnett County went back to work and our friends have started to come back to the house. Grace has enjoyed playing with Erin, Carson and Aidan. In fact they have worn her out. As much as I like my schedule of the kids going to sleep at 1pm every afternoon, it doesn't always work. My sweet little girl fell asleep at the lunch table today. She hasn't done that since she with around 10 months old...

Our 1 1/2 year old

Grace just turned 18 months old and is still growing like a weed. Last week at the doctor she weighed in at almost 25lb and 33in long, which puts her in the 50% for weight and 90% for height. She is developmentally right where she should be...including her temper tantrums. She is starting to become a good eater again. She loves all fruits, enjoys very little amount of veggies, loves her milk, loves juice (she'd float away if I would let her drink all the juice she wanted), loves snacking on daddy's snacks - fruit chews, candy, etc, and loves anything with marinara sauce. Grace loves to be around others. She enjoys the nursery at church, she is one of the only girls in her class and she shows them who is boss. She really likes going to her daddy's youth events and hanging out with the older kids, it helps that they all love her. She is now running all over the place, she likes for others to chase her around. Grace loves giving her daddy high fives, pounds and E.Ts. (You'll have to ask them to do it next time you see us.) She is in love with her daddy and ask where he is all day. She is starting to get interested in the whole potty thing. And she is now taking off her diaper when she is wet or dirty. I guess we will need to buy a potty for her soon. She is still a good sleeper. She is now officially down to one nap a day, but it's a good three hour nap. And she is sleeping about 11 hours at night. She is absolutely in love with her bunny blanket and her paci. Those are going to be hard habits to break. She continues to repeat new words each day. Every day you will at least hear these words once; bunbun, papi, please, juice, woofwoof, daddy, baby, bye bye, ball, mine, eat and shoes. Her favorite things to play with right now are her baby doll, shopping cart, table and chair set, bus, blocks, shoes, and clothes. She is showing more interest in puzzles, coloring, playing with play-doh but they all need full supervision. She continues to bring sunshine to our house every day!

I love this picture above for two reasons. First... Grace loves flowers, she'll pick flowers and bring them to you all day long. Two...her little legs are crossed, she always sits like that and I love it.This picture was taken a couple of weeks ago by my sister. Isn't she cute?

Lake weekend

This past weekend was spent at the lake with friends. We had a great time! Grace is becoming more and more of a fish every time she gets in the pool. She is so much fun to watch.

July 4th, 2007

We spent July 4th at Lake Oconee with Maw Maw, Paw Paw, Aunt Carrie, and Hudson. This holiday is always special to us because it is Carrie's birthday.

Maw Maw of course bought the cousins matching outfits. Aren't they cute! Boat Ride
Grace's first time with water wings. She did great with them. She was like a little fish in the water trying to swim all by herself!
Sitting outside waiting for the fireworks.

Babysitter

Grace had her first teenage babysitter on Sunday. Amanda came and watched Grace while Chad and I attended a funeral. Since it was Amanda's first time babysitting her mom stayed with her. She did such a GREAT job and Grace had so much fun. We can't wait till we can use her again. (I forget to get a picture of them together so I took one from her myspace account.)
